Environmental Education
We provide high quality environmental education to over 6,000 Cecil County Public School elementary students. In addition we serve home schools, private schools and daycares. Our curriculums include ecosystems, water quality, insects, soil science, and hibernation. Children also get to meet and learn about our animal ambassadors Jake, Kai, Axel, Ruby, Spot and Bernate!

Public Weekend Hours
The Nature Center is open by appointment Monday - Friday year round for field trips. From the months of May - September, we host public hours on the weekend. Hours are 10:00am - 3:00pm every Saturday and Sunday. Entry is $5 / person. Members and children under 5 are free. Entry includes use of our fishing poles, dip nets, binoculars, field guides, rocking chairs ,and bug nets. Guests can visit our our animal ambassadors, explore our sensory table, and hike the grounds. Become a Member today!
Envirothon
Each year we host Cecil County high school students in grades 9-12 competing in the Envirothon. This state-wide competition provides a fun and exciting way to learn about the natural world around them. Topics include forestry, soils, aquatics, wildlife and a 5th rotating current environmental topic.

Boy Scouts
We are the very proud host of Boy Scout Troop 443. They meet at the Nature Center and have provided a tremendous amount of service hours and capital improvements to our facility over the years.
