Summer Camp Wrap-up

Summer camp was busier than ever, with sold-out programs and several new offerings. From arts and crafts, theater, water experiments, to building forts and searching for woodland fairies, campers explored and learned about our local habitats in many ways. Here are a few shots of summer camp.

Educator Erlene Michener reads her original story, "How the Fox Got a White Tip on its Tail, " during lmagination Camp.

Just a few of the characters from Theater Camp who starred in the play, "Rescue at Elk Creek. "

A hearty "Thank your to our

Outdoor School Supporters

This year the Nature Center is receiving support for its Outdoor School programs in a variety of ways. Ten thousand dollars has been committed by the Cecil County Commissioners to help support programming at the Center. In addition, the Cecil County Public Schools system is funding field trip costs for all first and second graders. Through a generous grant received by the Waterfowl Festival, Inc., a limited number of sixth grade classes may sign up for our new "Why Wetlands? " program this fall or next spring with a savings to students of 50% of the program fee. And another grant received from the Cecil County Arts Council is making it possible for 20 kindergarten classes to participate in the "A Winter's Tail" outreach program this January and February.

Other support for the Nature Center and Outdoor School comes from donations from individuals and businesses, and membership fees. Thank you to all!
