Waterworks

What could be better, during the heat of the summer, than to immerse yourself in water? Waterworks campers search the Big Elk Creek for aquatic creatures while learning about the adaptations, which allow them to live in the water. They learn about hull design, creating paper boats, which can carry hundreds of pennies without sinking. Campers decorate a tee shirt with the art of Gyotaku, fish printing with real fish, and play games with an aquatic theme.

Waterworks_GroupPhoto The high point of the week is the boat race with highly individual wooden boats created by the campers. A “Water Olympics” featuring relay races with an aquatic theme follows this. This is truly a get wet and dirty camp with lots of happy faces each day.
