Financial Report: Larry Klevans reports were distributed at meeting. Have not received anything from Mrs. DuPont yet. No payroll in December in order to close out books. Larry mentioned United Way from Cecil County and Delaware. Dan suggested we mention United Way in newsletter. Sent thank you letters to United Way. The budget reflects a 5% raise for staff. Ralph moved we accept budget as proposed, Bob seconded.
Personnel Committee: Dan Schneckenburger has no news, has offered job to Crystal Waters. Is interested in job, but moneymaking part is not appealing to her. The nebulous area of having to raise money and be paid a commission is difficult for her. Will talk more to Suzan about events. Crystal is getting in touch with Suzan. She may take the job if she resolves some issues. The $12,000 in the budget is a great start.
Board Retreat: Barb Snyder to come to December meeting with proposal for places, etc. Dennis suggested a retreat on a weekday. Possibly use Martin Luther King Day. Bob is good for January. The general consensus was to aim for Martin Luther King day.
Nature School Report: Holly was not able to attend, report was read during meeting. Copy attached.
Rental of Bldg. and Memorial Garden: Jerry Newman, Ralph, Jerry Hendricks on committee.
Fox Trot: Suzan reported that a lot of new people are coming to Ball. Not a lot of old people. We are breaking even at this point. Logistics were discussed and assignments given.
Program Committee: Barbara Snyder. Advertise May 11 in newsletter. Santa Hayride Dec. 8 at 2:00 p.m.
Publicity Committee: Doug Hill, Alex working on video for Fox Trot.
Membership: Bob Carroll gave a couple checks to Larry. Board campaign is close to being 100%.
Buildings and Grounds: Jerry Newman fixed screen door. Bill Preske will be cutting tree down in December. The beavers have been chopping trees down. Tractor tire has been repaired.
SpringFest: Ralph Young reported on progress so far for SpringFest. Suzan suggested raffle items, Antique Car Show, Boat Show, Ag showcase of lawn tractors, yard tips. Perhaps talk to Elaine Benjamin of Shoppes of Londonshire about booths. Wayne needs to be available for logistics. Ilene Milburn will give a list of crafters that she has used. May 11, 2002.
Next meeting is to be held December 10, will meet at Chamber Office, 233 E. Main Street.
Will ask staff what they would like to have for Christmas.
