Art in Nature

Over 120 people attended the Nature Center's first Art in Nature Arts Festival this June 19. Works by six local artists, including Doris and Sally Andersen, Jeannie Bergmann, Jean Castelli, Eleanor Guinard, and Geraldine McKeown were on exhibit in the Nature Center. Visitors were able to try their own hands at various nature crafts such as animal stamp stationary, animal masks, and fish printing. Participants also investigated critters at discovery stations down at the marsh and along the Big Elk Creek, went on a natural history hike with director Karen Aspinwall, and were introduced to common animals of Fair Hill with the help of Bob Willmann and Ranger Marcus.

Twenty-five volunteers and staff from the Fair Hill Nature Center and the Elk Creeks Watershed Association helped make this event a success. Many thanks to all who volunteered time and energy, and to those who came to celebrate the beauty of nature close to home!
