Nature Center programs are great for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, families and organizations such as Scout groups. Family memberships and organization memberships are available for $30. Scout groups and other youth organizations over 12 members are $50.

Go, Dog, Go!!

Saturday February 8, 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Come and learn about the sport of Mushing with Sue Thompson, an expert in the sport. Sue will teach us about dog sledding and demonstrate on her wheel-cart with her full team after the indoor program.

Bluebirds

Saturday March 7, 12:00-2:00 pm

Hear about the dangers faced by these beautiful native birds.
Build a bluebird house to lure a pair to your own backyard.

Marvelous Maples

Saturday March 7, 2:30-4:00 pm


Nature Center staff will boil up a taste of real maple syrup from our own Maple trees. Learn the history of maple sugaring in America, how to “do-it-yourself”, then enjoy some pancakes and maple syrup!

Members Free/Non-members $5.00

Spring Trail Work Day

Saturday March 21, 9:00 am - noon

Trail day

It’s time to clean the trails and get ready for spring hiking! Bring rakes, wheelbarrows and gloves. Please label all belongings so that they may be returned to you if left behind. We will meet at the Nature Center and finish up at noon for grilled hamburgers and treats!

Free/Lunch will be served at noon
Ages 12 and up.

 

Frog Frenzy

Friday April 17, 6:30-8:30 pm

Bring your family (and a flashlight!) on a hike to locate the singing frogs! We will meet at the Nature Center and finish up with a bonfire, hot chocolate, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.

S.W.A.T. Road Cleanup

Saturday April 18, 8:00-9:30 am

Do your part to help clean up our roadsides by joining Nature Center staff and board members for its quarterly trash pickup day along our adopted highway, a 2 mile section of Rt. 273. We will meet at Wesley's parking lot at 8 a.m. All materials provided by the Nature Center. Must be 12 years or older.

GreenFest '09, a new way to celebrate spring, reconnect with nature, and have fun learning how easy it can be to "green up" your home, yard, and business.

When: Saturday, May 9, from 10 am to 4 pm
Where: Cecil County Fairgrounds, Ed Walls Activity Hall with hayrides to Fair Hill Nature Center
Parking: $5.00 per car
Free admission and VIP parking area for hybrid cars and bicycles!
