Nature Center programs are great for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, families and organizations such as Scout groups. Family memberships and organization memberships are available for $30. Scout groups and other youth organizations over 12 members are $50.

FIsh Are Friends, Not Food!

Saturday, July 16, 10:00 a.m.

Join Nature Center Naturalists for a stream search in the Big Elk Creek and then make a fish print on a t-shirt or bandana. Bring your own shirt or buy one at the Nature Center. Wear your water shoes! Members free, Non-members $5.00 adults, $3.00 children. Reservations are requested.

Puppets and Songs for Kids

Saturday, July 23, 10:00 a.m.
Come find out about what worms do when they finish work each day, learn why Mother Nature is looking green but feeling blue, pretend you are a seed growing into a new plant, meet dancing aliens, and have lots of fun shaking shakers and singing along with Rick. This show is mainly targets an audience of four to ten-year-olds, but is appropriate for the whole family.

Stay for a picnic at the Nature Center.
Members – Children - $1.00, Adults $2.00.
Nonmembers – Children - $3.00, Adults $5.00.
Reservations are requested. 

S.W.A.T. Road Cleanup

Saturday, July 30, 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.

We need you and you’ll get mucho fresh air and exercise! Put the 30th on your calendar to meet at Wesley’s Restaurant parking lot on Rt. 273. We have “adopted” a stretch of the highway and pick up trash about a mile east and west of Wesley’s. We’re only out there a couple of hours but what a difference it makes. And you’ll meet the nicest people!. All materials provided by the Nature Center. Must be 12 years or older. 
Service Learning credit available.

Astronomy in the Park

Wednesday, July 27 8:00 to 10:00 pm
 


Meet at the Appleton Rd north parking lot. Join amateur astronomer James T. Morgan in learning to observe the night sky with binoculars and telescopes. Bring your own equipment if you have it and bring a chair or blanket. No charge but parking fees are in effect.
