Marvelous Maples

Saturday, March 1

If you think maple sugaring is only for New England, come out to the Nature Center and see how it’s done here in Maryland. Our experts boil down the sap and boil up a taste of real country style maple syrup from our own maple trees. We’ll try some on pancakes! Members free; nonmembers $3.

Bluebirds

Saturday, March 1

Help preserve this delightful songbird by learning how to attract bluebirds to your backyard. Build your own bluebird nesting box while attending this popular Fair Hill Nature Center workshop. The bluebirds will find you this spring! Program with bird house, members $5; nonmembers $9. Without house, members free; nonmembers $3. Discount for both programs.

Trails Day

Saturday, March 15

Make some new friends while cleaning and trimming our teaching trails and sprucing up the Nature Center grounds. This is also a great way for Scout groups, Indian Guide groups, and students to earn community service hours – spread the word! Lunch will be served to our volunteers. Why not give us a call if you’re planning to help out that morning so we’ll have a rough count for the meal.

Frog Frenzy

Friday, April 4

What do frogs do in the spring? Well …… and they sing! Learn about our local amphibians and walk down to hear the “froggy chorus” of spring in the wetlands. Afterwards you’ll be welcomed by a bonfire and refreshments. The walk is recommended for children age 4 and older. Bring a flashlight and your curiosity! This event is perfect for structuring some quality time with your children or grandchildren. Members free; nonmembers $3.
