Campers got a bird's eye view of the Fair Hill Nature Center from Board member Larry Klevin's hot air balloon at last fall's Camp-out. The Nature Center hopes to offer this special overnight program again this fall.

Trail Day

Saturday, March 13, 9 to 1 p.m.

Help get the Nature Center trails ready for returning students this fall. Volunteers are needed to clip paths, spread mulch, and repair a fence. We also need a few people to bring a chain saw to clear several fallen trees from our trails. Hot dogs and soda provided.

Build a Bluebird Box

Saturday, March 20, 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Learn about the natural history of bluebirds and how you can help them find a home with Board member and bluebird expert Jerry Newman. Each participant will build a bluebird box to take home.

Frog Frolics

Friday, April 9, 7 to 9 p.m.

Bob Willman is back for this popular evening program and hike! Learn about our native frogs, toads and reptiles at the Nature Center. Then hike out to Fair Hill wetlands to observe springtime breeding behaviors of some of our most vocal inhabitants!

Death by Natural Causes

Saturday, April 10, 5 to 9 p.m.

A Murder Mystery Party. If you enjoy costume parties, if you want to act, but not rehearse or memorize lines, if you enjoy solving puzzles or outguessing TV detectives, or if you like watching comedies and mysteries, then this is the event for you. S.W.A.T. Road Cleanup

Saturday, April 17, 8 to 10 a.m.

Join Nature Center staff and board members to clean up trash from our adopted highway, a 2 mile section of Rt. 273. We will meet at Wesley's parking lot at 8 a.m. All materials provided by the Nature Center. Must be 12 years or older.

Service Learning credit available.

March for Parks

Sunday, April 25, 1 to 4 p.m.

Please join us for this special walkathon to raise funds for the Nature Center and for trail maintenance on Fair Hill property. Walk, bike or ride a horse along special trails. Your registration fee helps the Nature Center support its Outdoor School and provide environmental education programs for students in Cecil County and the region. Collect pledges from family and friends and win prizes! Hot food, drinks, baked goods available. The gift store will be open and Nature Center exhibits and live animals on display. Wildflower Walk

Teacher/naturalist Doris Andersen will show of Fair Hill's spring flowering plants on an easy walk along Nature Center trails.

Annual Meeting/Art in Nature

Saturday, June 19

All members are invited to participate in our Annual Meeting. A report on the past year's activities will be presented and an election for the Board of Directors will be conducted. The Nature Center will also co-host an event with the Elk Creeks Watershed Association on this day, which will include nature talks, nature walks and art workshops.
